Yulin Dog Meat Festival-Message of Hope

After four years of actively campaigning against the dog and cat meat trade in Asia the whole world finally knows not just about Yulin but the barbaric way dogs and cats are brutalised for food and fur.

Amazing Actors such as Orlando Bloom and Ricky Gervais have said NoToDogMeat

and although this years festival will still take place, we all hope it will be much smaller with tighter controls. In a few weeks I will be able  update first hand on my own visit to the region but for now a message of hope from Oliver rescued from a truck and on his way to his forever home.

Just look how well he has done. Lovingly pulled to safety by on the ground unpaid Chinese Activists.

NoToDogMeat Charity Update

12000944_667947496673864_7184933177661356695_o

As soon as our report on the visit to China written by Mr Donkers has been discussed with the charity commission we will hold our press conference and update all donors.
We do wish to reassure you that we have the amazing help of local Chinese Welfare Groups and front line activists. When we visited Mrs Yang these kind individuals who run their own small shelters, who were present at #707,#809 and #816 rescues came with us. Many had volunteered previously at these yards and had donated personally to Mrs Yang and therefore know her situation much better than all of us.
These rescuers have committed their pledge to take care of the dogs and cats you may have seen through external sources. and can manage their upkeep and welfare.
Their kind actions will relieve perceived burdens on Mrs Yang and is an amazingly generous offer. No-one wants to see dogs and cats suffering slow painful deaths without food, water and medical care.
These wonderful individuals are highly respected throughout China and as a global activist and umbrella association it is our mandate to work where we can with trusted associates on the ground.
It is very sad that some individuals are deliberately spreading misinformation and are now discrediting these brave Chinese activists who risk their lives to save dogs and cats.
We would like to confirm that FACEBOOK and TWITTER is banned in China and our charity has not published any pictures or videos apart from those of the dogs rescued from the trucks we have decided to adopt.
If you do have a genuine question please phone us on 0207 873 2250 or email us on campaign@notodogmeat.com

Thankyou for your support.

What is it Really Like in China?

Julia De Cadenet CEO of NoToDogMeat and Robert Donkers trustee – recent visit to China to help activists.

NoToDogMeat Blog

NoToDogMeat : Last week our trustee Robert Donkers and CEO Julia De Cadenet travelled to China and met the heroes who risk their lives day in day out to save dogs from the meat trade. Over the next few weeks we will give you an insight into what it is really like in China ( where FACEBOOK and TWITTER is banned). The activists and rescuers stayed by our sides 24/7 to show us the real underbelly of the dog meat trade in China. Some findings are sad, others are shocking but the main feeling is that of hope. Our work is to support them. We hope you can too. Let’s never forget we are here for the animals !
